The late Godfrey Motey Addo was born in Accra to Comfort Korkor Aryee and Joseph Laryea Addo both Blessed Memory. He attended the Government boys school at Sempe, Accra. He then proceeded to the middle school at Kinbu in Accra. After middle school, he attended Keta Secondary School for high school education.
After 25 years of services through the transition from Taxaco to Shell Ghana Limited, he retired to begin his entrepreneurship and dealership with Shell Ghana. He managed fuel stations in Metropol (Kingsway), Labadi Accra, then later in Mambrobi where his business blossomed until his death.
He always exuded leadership qualities and even during the last days of his life was appointed as trustee to the hospital he was been treated in (Manchester Royal Infirmary, UK)
Godfrey was blessed with eight children, three boys and five girls from three marriages. He devoted his resources and time in raising all his children very well. He was a good spiritual man who worshiped with the Methodist Church. He was member of the choirs at Worton and Wesley Methodist Churches. He was a staunch member of the Men’s Fellowship Society at the Nazareth Methodist Church.
He participated in numerous church activities and was given many awards from different groups that he sponsored in the church. On November 22, 2008, death laid its icy hands on him whilst he was receiving treatment in Manchester (UK.) He leaves behind his wife Mrs Augustina Addo, eight children and six grand children.
